The exact times of the scheduled observations are given below: DESIG NAME START TIME (UT) END TIME (UT) 0035+42 HV And Nov 26 2002 12:13:16 Nov 26 2002 12:52:32 0740+43 SDSS0747 Nov 27 2002 17:22:05 Nov 27 2002 17:58:24 2324+05 RXS2329+06 Nov 28 2002 17:04:02 Nov 28 2002 17:39:03 0501-04 AQ Eri Nov 30 2002 17:26:38 Nov 30 2002 18:02:57 0815+51 BH Lyn Dec 01 2002 12:51:03 Dec 01 2002 13:25:52 2048+43 V751 Cyg Dec 01 2002 16:55:10 Dec 01 2002 17:29:37 1729+62 SDSS1730 Dec 06 2002 18:24:59 Dec 06 2002 19:00:08 Observers, especially those with CCDs, are encouraged to keep a close eye on these objects leading up to and particularly during the HST observations. Having AAVSO data available for correlation will be very useful to our colleagues in the analysis of their HST data. Please note: If you use non-AAVSO charts to observe these objects, it is essential that your chart information is included in your observing report. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHANDRA TO OBSERVE U GEM IN OUTBURST Our colleagues from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the Space Telescope Science Institute have informed us that U Gem will be observed during its next outburst with both Chandra's High Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer (HETGS) and Chandra's Low Energy Transmission Grating Spectrometer (LETGS) to measure the soft and hard x-rays at maximum and a few days after maximum. Observers are encouraged to keep a close eye on U Gem starting now and continuing throughout the next outburst. Please notify HQ when U Gem brightens to at least 13.0 magnitudes so that we can inform our colleagues and they in turn can trigger the Chandra observations. Continuing coverage during the outburst is also very important so that we may be able to keep our colleagues updated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0401+50 FO PERSEI The dwarf nova type cataclysmic variable FO PER appears to be in outburst, as indicated by the following observations: AAVSO Observer AAVSO Observer UT Mag.
