L. Qiu and J. Y. Hu of Beijing Astronomical Observatory (BAO). The 15.1 magnitude object appears on two unfiltered CCD frames taken on NOV 30.84 and DEC 1.93 UT. The following position has been reported: R.A. = 11h 22m 53s.15 Decl. = +16o 35' 10".0 (2000) which is 22".4 west and 14".0 south of the center of NGC 3655. Please report the object to the AAVSO as: 1117+17 SN 2002JI An AAVSO 'e' scale chart prepared by Aaron Price and showing the location of SN 2002JI has been posted on the AAVSO web page. Ths chart is accessible via the following url: http://charts.aavso.org/searchcharts.shtml Congratulations to Y. L. Qiu and J. Y.
