Arbour, England, and by the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (LOSS) of an apparent supernova in NGC 2841. The LOSS team reports that the supernova was found on unfiltered CCD images obtained on April 30.2 and May 1.2 UT at approximate magnitude 15.7 and 15.0, respectively. The following position was obtained by M. Armstrong, England: R.A. = 09h 21m 52.07s Dec. = +51ø 00' 06.6" (2000) For a chart and more information on this apparent supernova please see AAVSO Alert Notice 258, which will be posted on the AAVSO web site (http://www.aavso.org) later today. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0409-71 VW HYDRI The dwarf nova type (SU UMA subclass) cataclysmic variable VW HYI is in outburst, as indicated by the following observations: AAVSO Observer AAVSO Observer UT Mag.
