Valentini, E. Di Carlo, D. Guidubaldi, E. Brocato, A. Di Paola, F. D'Alessio, R. Speziali, G. Li Causi, and F. Pedichini, Italy, discovered a supernova in NGC 6951 at magnitude 14.30 CCDV on January 26.73 UT. The position of Supernova 2000E, located 6.3" west and 26.7" south of the center of NGC 6951, is given as: R.A. = 20h 37m 13.8s Decl. = +66 degrees 05' 50.2" (epoch 2000) For more information on the supernova and an AAVSO "e" scale preliminary chart please see AAVSO Alert Notice 270 which is posted on the AAVSO web page: http://www.aavso.org Congratulations to G. Valentini, E. Di Carlo, D. Guidubaldi, E. Brocato, A. Di Paola, F. D'Alessio, R. Speziali, G. Li Causi, and F. Pedichini, on their discovery! Please monitor this supernova and other variable stars closely and phone-in, fax, or e-mail your observations to the AAVSO. Good observing! Janet A.
