Evans, Australia, visually discovered an apparent supernova in NGC 6753 on May 14.7 UT at approximate magnitude 14.8. The object was confirmed by T. Dobosz, NSW, who obtained a CCD image on May 15.6 UT. Dobosz's image was measured by G. L. White, NSW, who reported the position of the supernova, which is located about 35" east and 19" south of the nucleus of the galaxy, as: R.A. = 19h 11m 27.49s Decl. = -57 degrees 03' 14.1" (equinox 2000.0) For more information and an AAVSO chart, please see AAVSO Alert Notice 276, which will be released and posted on the AAVSO web page tomorrow. Congratulations to Bob on his latest discovery! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0725+06 SV CANIS MINORIS The dwarf nova type (Z CAM subclass) cataclysmic variable SV CMI appears to be in outburst, as indicated by the following observations: AAVSO Observer AAVSO Observer UT Mag.
