In Memoriam

The AAVSO extends its most sincere sympathy and condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the following individuals who have passed away since the publication of the previous Newsletter:

Roy R. Lee of Florida, long-time member.

Robert A. Leitner of Connecticut.

Bob helped with a number of important AAVSO projects, including the scanning of charts.

J. Russell Smith of Texas, in October of 1997, long-time member and observer.

Robert B. Ammons of Montana, a solar observer and former chair of the Solar Division.

John Vincent of Zimbabwe, former president of the Astronomical Society of South Africa.

In the "In Memoriam" section in Newsletter No. 22, Helen Stephansky Abbott was listed as deceased. In fact, it was her husband who had passed away. Our sincere apologies to Helen and her family for this mix-up, as well as our heartfelt condolences on their loss.
