V2491 Cyg (Nova Cyg 2008 #2) now has a two-night
BVRI photometric calibration from Sonoita Research
Observatory. A sequence based on that calibration
has been uploaded to VSP/VSD and is now available
when you download a chart. This sequence should
be adequate until the nova fades below V=13.5, at
which time we will update the sequence. A .dat
calibration file will be available shortly. Last
reports to the AAVSO show the nova at V=9.6, but
relatively constant since the rapid fade from its
peak at V=7.4.
Lynch, et al. (IAUC 8935) indicate that this
nova has a highly unusual spectrum. Ibarra
and Kuulkers (ATEL 1473, 1480) point out that this
nova has been an X-ray source for several years
and is being followed currently with Swift.
Continue observing this peculiar nova!
