AAVSO Special Notice #158

Update to Special Notice 157 -- possible nova in Centaurus
May 13, 2009

Further to Special Notice #157, L. Elenin (Moscow, Russia) used the
Tzec Maun telescope at Pingelly Observatory (near Perth, Australia)
to obtain astrometry of this object.  He confirms the existence of
the object at a magnitude of V=9.69 on 2009 May 13.466 (JD 2454964.966),
and provides the following coordinates accurate to 0.1":

RA: 13 31 15.76 , Dec: -63 57 38.5

Photometry and spectroscopy of this object are encouraged.

This object has been assigned the name "VSX J133115.7-635738" and the
AUID "000-BJP-207".  An AAVSO Alert Notice will be issued if and when
the object is confirmed as a nova.
