V2467 Cyg

Special Notice #37 announced the discovery of a possible nova in Cygnus by A. Tago (CBET 890). The coordinates are: RA 20:28:12.52 DEC +41:48:36.5 J2000 IAUC 8821 now reports that the GCVS team has given this star the name V2467 Cyg. Several groups have submitted spectral details that indicate this is a classical nova, with Halpha P-Cygni profile and Balmer and FeII absorption lines. It is currently fading quite rapidly (last report from Richard Huziak at JD 2454178.96, or March 19 UT, was V=8.63). A finding chart with a sequence from M. Simonsen can be found at: http://www.aavso.org/observing/vsp/ and enter V2467 Cyg for the name. Keep monitoring this nova at all wavelengths. Arne Henden
