AAVSO Special Notice #38

V2467 Cyg
(March 19, 2007)

Special Notice #37 announced the discovery of a possible
nova in Cygnus by A. Tago (CBET 890). The coordinates
are:
RA 20:28:12.52 DEC +41:48:36.5 J2000
IAUC 8821 now reports that the GCVS team has given
this star the name V2467 Cyg. Several groups have
submitted spectral details that indicate this is
a classical nova, with Halpha P-Cygni profile and
Balmer and FeII absorption lines. It is currently
fading quite rapidly (last report from Richard
Huziak at JD 2454178.96, or March 19 UT, was V=8.63).
A finding chart with a sequence from M. Simonsen
can be found at:
http://www.aavso.org/observing/vsp/
and enter V2467 Cyg for the name.

Keep monitoring this nova at all wavelengths.
