AAVSO Alert Notice 703 announces an urgent request for spectroscopy and V photometry of the WZ Sge variable TCP J21040470+4631129. Please see the notice for details and observing instructions. Please note that the target of this Alert Notice is the same as in AAVSO Alert Notice 702.

Many thanks, and Good observing,

Resolution ?

The wording is rather odd

"Dr. Echevarria asks spectroscopists "for direct images with a narrow filter at H alpha and nearby continuum."

Does this mean a spectrum covering the H alpha line just with sufficient resolution to be able to estimate the Equivalent Width or is a higher resolution to resolve the line profile required ?

TCP J21040470+4631129 and spectroscopy

Hi Robin and other Spectroscopists,

I misunderstood Dr. Echevarria's request for spectroscopy. He does not primarily want spectroscopy, although it is very welcome. The H alpha and continuum referred to a CCD image using a filter centered on H alpha. He will be posting to the forum, and I will issue a revised version of Alert Notice 703. I apologize sincerely for my error.

Good observing,

Elizabeth

We need images with a CCD taken with a narrow filter, centered at H alfa and also in nearby continuum

H alpha spectroscopy

Dear Robin,

Yes, spectroscopy around H alpha will be most wecome.

High spped photometry will also be desirable as the object appears to have develoved early superhumps.

Should I ask about photometry in this forum?

Regards,

Juan

Thanks to all - from Principal Investigator Juan Echevarria

Dr. Juan Echevarria, Principal Investigator for this campaign on TCP J21040470+4631129, posted the following message in the CV forum thread for this campaign on July 2:

Dear Observars,

I would like to thank your always invaluable contribution to our campaings. In this case we got very nice data on TCP J21040470+4631129 and hope to find soon new and valuable information on this unusual object that has had repeated superoutburst in the course of a few months!!!
