12” LX200 ATM project available

I have a 12” LX200 that is available.  The scope served as the W30 node on the AAVSOnet and is now out of service. It is AAVSO property.

During the course of its usage, the serial port connection to the mount became unreliable; and the scope was taken out of service.  All of the imaging accessories were moved to another scope.  What is left is the bare scope, hand paddle, and finder.  The scope still runs from the hand paddle.  It does have OTA fans installed on the mirror cell.  The primary sleeve has set screws to lock the primary once focused.

The scope is available to any member who would like to refurbish and reequip it for an AAVSO purpose such as the AAVSOnet.  The Meade main board would require attention or might all be replaced with a SiTech system. Resources are extremely limited.  Alternately, the scope would be available for an outright sale.

Shipping would be difficult as the shipping boxes are gone. I have a JMI case which could be used but would have to be returned to me, as it is my property.   Arrangements could be made for members on the west coast or anyone planning on attending the June joint meeting with SAS in Ontario, California.
