(Abstract only) A review of the current status of the AAVSO International Variable Star Index (VSX) is presented. Starting with an heterogeneous set of catalogs automatically imported, the data included in VSX have been constantly evolving and the role of observers contributing their new discoveries or revising known variable stars is growing more important each day. Examples are given of the improvements made in several aspects of star data such as identification, classification, elimination of duplicate entries, and updates.
