Abstract

New observations are presented and analyzed for the Am star BP Oct. While a previously reported period of ~ 3 days cannot be unequivocally confirmed or dismissed, evidence is mounting that BP Oct is a binary and thus typical of Am stars. As light variations reported for BP Oct are no more than 0.03 magnitude, attempts to confirm or dismiss such variations remain challenging.
