Abstract

(Abstract only) Betelgeuse was studied using the vstar software package and analysis of the observations in the AAVSO International Database. Period analysis derived a period of 376 days, in comparison with literature periods of 420 days using satellite UV data but significantly different from the VSX period of 2,335 days. The unique set of PEP observations of this star is also shown, and the advantage of PEP Johnson V observations is shown in comparison with the visual observations.
