Alert Notice 457: Monitoring Nova Oph 2012 for multiwavelength observations [V2676 Oph]

April 10, 2012:  Dr. Michael Rupen (National Radio Astronomy Observatory, Socorro, NM) has informed us that he and his colleagues of the EVLA (Expanded Very Large Array) Nova Team are carrying out a multiwavelength campaign on the Fe II-type nova Nova Oph 2012 [V2676 Oph]. They have triggered observations with Swift, JVLA (Jansky Very Large Array), SMA (Submillimeter Array), and high-resolution optical spectroscopy. He is requesting AAVSO observations in support.

Special Notice #267: HST observations of CH Cyg scheduled and monitoring urgently needed

March 15, 2012:  As announced in AAVSO Alert Notice 454 (http://www.aavso.org/aavso-alert-notice-454), Dr. Margarita Karovska, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, has requested multiband photometry (all possible bands), high-speed photometry, spectroscopy, and visual observations of the symbiotic variable CH Cyg in support of HST and Chandra observations. She is studying the central region of CH Cyg and its jet.

Alert Notice 453: Monitoring of S Dor requested for multiwavelength campaign

February 23, 2012:  Dr. Noel Richardson, Georgia State University, has requested monitoring of the luminous blue variable (LBV) prototype S Doradus as part of a multiwavelength campaign he is coordinating to study the photosphere of this star. At present the observations planned include:

1. UV Spectroscopy from HST
2. Optical spectroscopy from CTIO and an amateur in Australia
3. Near-IR Spectroscopy from SOAR (pending approval)
4. Mid-IR photometry from Gemini (pending approval)

Special Notice #262: Long-term monitoring of AGN targets extended

November 2, 2011:  The observing campaign described in AAVSO Alert Notice 443 (M. Templeton) has been extended through the end of November 2011. One of the original targets, NGC 6814, has been removed from the target list for the remainder of the campaign.

Alert Notice 440: PEP Observing Campaign on P Cygni

Note: This campaign is the subject of the AAVSO Spectroscopy discussion forum thread: https://www.aavso.org/p-cyg-monitoring-intrinsic-h%CE%B1-flux

Also, spectroscopy reports should be submitted to the AAVSO Spectroscopy Database (AVSpec, https://www.aavso.org/apps/avspec/).  -  Elizabeth O. Waagen, 20 May 2020

Alert Notice 426: Rescheduled request for observations of V455 AND in support of HST observations

October 5, 2010: As originally announced in AAVSO Alert Notice 423, Dr. Paula Szkody (U. Washington) has requested the help of AAVSO observers in monitoring the WZ Sge-type cataclysmic variable V455 And in support of Hubble Space Telescope ultraviolet spectroscopic observations.

Alert Notice 423: Request for observations of V455 AND in support of HST observations

August 30, 2010: Dr. Paula Szkody (U. Washington) has requested the help of AAVSO observers in monitoring the WZ Sge-type cataclysmic variable V455 And in support of Hubble Space Telescope ultraviolet spectroscopic observations scheduled for 6:55-15:20 2010 September 11 UT (the night of Friday, September 10/11) (JD 2455450.78819 - 2455451.13889). Observations are requested beginning immediately and continuing through September 20. This monitoring is crucial to these observations.
