CHOICE: Developing a Visual Observing Program

Whether you are a new observer or a returning observer or just interested in getting some fresh ideas on how to get the most out of your time at the telescope, this course is for you!

Contrary to what some people might think, visual observations of variable stars are just as important as ever! By learning how to customize your observing program to suit your equipment, site conditions, and interests, you will discover how to maximize the scientific value of your work while increasing your enjoyment of observing.

This course will be taught by experienced visual observer Michael Cook who will introduce the material, lead discussion, and be there to answer your questions.

As with all CHOICE courses, the material and discussion is conducted 100% online (via a special forum) so it does not matter where you are in the world.

Dates: March 6 - 31, 2017

Cost:  $30 for AAVSO members, $50 for non-members
