I am new to using VPhot, and I was trying to do a time series and got this error. If someone could help me understand what's going wrong, I would greatly appreciate it!

VPhot error

The error capture that you sent gives some clues...a request to the MySQL db includes things that thought should be numbers and they are not.

Is there a sequence defined for the timeseries? Please post that (use Admin/Sequences and copy and paste)

And also post one of the files in the series.

So I think I figured out part

So I think I figured out part of the problem: there was some kind of calibration error with all of the images I uploaded. They have all been corrected with zeroes, darks, and flats already, but the calibration square is red for all of them. Should I try to re-upload them? Or is there a way to figure out exactly why the calibration is marked red?

VPhot error

The image file you posted here shows no record of calibration in its header.

It's a pretty old image, from 2009 using Maxim 4.51

Your original fault was in VPhot when going to do a time series. I'm puzzled that VPhot got that far given the image was uncalibrated and.

Did it have WCS showing green in the file list?

-To calibrate the images you would need to have the flats, darks and bias shots

- The images may in fact be calibrated, just no notation in the FITS header.

- VPhot didn't seem to mind since it did try to do the timeseries; it failed when it went to save the results to the db.

So we're faced with a standard debug scenario.

- How many images in the time series? Can you run a timeseries on a subset of the images?

You're welcome to share the images with SGEO on VPhot. I'm trying to solve problems on VPhot for the AAVSO.
