The probable UXOR (formerly thought to be an EA star!) MQ Cas is apparently flaring. 13.7 on 22nd Aug and 12.6 on 23rd. It may have been slightly brighter because there isn't a brighter comp star nearby, so I had to use star 130! If the flare is genuine then MQ Cas may be an EXOR instead.

V730 Cep was 14.9 tonight - looks like a deep fade is happening!

Something this star in August

Something this star in August is quite active. Before that, outbreaks were quite rare. Two weeks ago, this star was more than 11m.

Thanks to those who responded to my request for observing her in an active state.

What is what? Me no understand.

Incidentally I have just informed Dr V Grinin at Pulkovo about this object. He is organising a conference on UXORs in St.Petersburg.
