CHOICE: Variable Star Classification and Light Curves

Did you ever wonder what a light curve actually means or why they can be so different from each other?

Now is your chance to find out! By taking the Variable Star Classification and Light Curves CHOICE course, you will learn how to decipher light curves to unlock the secrets of the stars.

Course Description:  This course is an overview of the types of variable stars most commonly observed by AAVSO observers. We discuss the physical processes behind what makes each type variable and how this is demonstrated in their light curves. Variable star names and nomenclature are placed in a historical context to aid in understanding today’s classification scheme.

Dates: February 6 - March 3, 2017

Cost:  $30 for AAVSO members, $50 for non-members
