NEW AAVSO & Astronomical League collaboration.

AAVSO salutes NYAA and Horkheimer Service Youth winners!

It is a pleasure to announce a new collaboration between the AAVSO and the Astronomical League. The Astronomical League annually presents its National Young Astronomer Award to a high-school age student for outstanding astronomical research, and its Horkheimer Youth Service Awards to two AL members under 19 who make exceptional contributions to education and public outreach. In addition to their AL awards, and beginning this year, the AAVSO will award a one-year AAVSO membership to the recipients of these awards, in recognition of their profound interest in amateur and professional astronomy. We hope this membership will encourage their passion for astronomy and expand their astronomical horizons by exploring variable stars, a fascinating part of and window on the universe.

Best wishes and clear skies,

Stella Kafka, Director American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO)
