V3890 Sgr in eruption - spectra needed!

Friends,

The symbiotic star and recurrent nova V3890 Sgr is undergoing an eruption, and we need spectra alongside photometry. All resolutions are needed! For high-res spectra, please focus on emisison lines (especially H-alpha).

Coordinates: RA:18 30 43.28;  Dec: -24 01 08.9 (2000)

I would really appreciate it if you could add this target to your observing list. Please submit your spectra at the AAVSO database at:

https://www.aavso.org/apps/specdb/submit

Thank you in advance for your time.

Best wishes - clear skies,

Stella.

Spectra of V3890 Sgr

I succeded in taking a spectra tonight if this star. R=4900 and a range from 6000 -6900A.

It has a very broad Ha with a velocity of about 4500km/sec.

I have uploaded it to the database but it is awaiting approval.

Great spectrum - I just validated it. Thank you! Please keep observing, there will be interesting line profile changes as the event progresses...

Best wishes - clear skies,

Stella.

Hi,

Hi,
I am unable to upload my fit/spectra to the database : the V3890 Sgr, nor the reference Miles star I used (HD 175892) are in the list.
Or maybe I am doing something wrong ?
Clear sky,
Jean-Philippe

Upload problem

Jean-Philippe

I had this problem also at times.

The fit header has to have exactly the correct items in it. This includes the instrument description being exactly the same as you have registered with AAVSO. Your observer code also needs to be either your AAVSO code or an alias that you have registered.
