CORRECTION TO AAVSO ALERT NOTICE 160 (July 14, 1992)
1817-18 NOVA SAGITTARII 1992 NO. 2 [V4169 Sgr]
In AAVSO Alert Notice 160 (July 10, 1992), an error was made in the 1900 designation and the 1950 position of Nova Sagittarii 1992 No. 2. However, the nova was plotted correctly on the chart from the AAVSO Variable Star Atlas.
The correct 1950 positon of Nova Sgr 1992 No. 2 is:
R.A. 18 20 18 Dec. -28 23.7
The correct 1900 designation is therefore 1817-28.
The charts distributed with Alert Notice 160 are reproduced here for your reference. Please report your observations of Nova Sgr 1992 No. 2 to Headquarters; the answering machine (617-354-0484) is on nights and weekends.
