Accessing Nv Del in the LCG

Is anyone else experiencing difficult getting into the LCG to view Nova Del's latest activity?

Increasingly with the passage of days, I'm finding that my computer times out waiting to bring up the nova's lightcurve, as if the system is becoming progressively more and more overloaded with viewing requests. The same result occurs no matter how short a lightcurve duration I input, so it is not simply a matter of being overwhelmed by the amount of data to plot.

I note that I am encountering no other access problems, or delays, with anyother portion of the AAVSO site. However, the situation with the LCG is becoming impossible for me, with maybe one connection made in every ten attempts throughout the day.

Any comments, or experiences otherwise?

No problems here

John,

I've using the LCG and generating reports on what used to be called Quick Look several times a day, with an occasional noticeable delay, but never to the point of failing completely.  I attribute the delay (not that I have any direct knowledge) to increased load due to the many links to the LCG on Neva Del 2013 being tweeted and shared on other social sites.  When clicked on, they are not taking people to an image of the light curve, they are going to the LCG itself and generating a new curve right then.

Bottom line, I have experienced an occasional delay, across the website, not just on the LCG, but nothing unreasonable.

v/r,

Jim

NOva Del delay

Hi John,

Other than the usual slowness of the AAVSO site, I haven't experienced any lengthy delays in drawing a light curve for Nova Del - either short or long!

I've just read there were again problems with the Amazon cloud (especially at a datacenter in North-Virginia). Maybe that was the reason of the difficulties accessing LCG.

This may well have been the case, as today access to the LCG was much quicker and easier and I've managed to gain access on every attempt.
