I just read the encouraging news that Data Release 10 of APASS has been released.  I wondered if anybody might have an idea of when it will become available in VizieR.  Thanks.

Best of Both Worlds - DR9 & DR10

As a member of the Sequence Team I would much prefer for the present that VizieR not adopt DR10 if it would replace DR9.  DR9 still has value to us and the only current availability is VizieR.

Now, as an observer, you can have direct access to DR10 simply by downloading and  accessing Seqplot and then selecting APASS for any FOV of interest:

Just my own private thoughts and may or may not reflect those of other sequence team members, at the present time.

APASS on VizieR

Having read the APASS DR10 release notes I understand your concerns.  That said, it appears to me that it should be possible to have both data releases available on VizieR, just as there are various releases of the Tycho2 and Hipparcos databases.

Tim,

It is common to have multiple data releases of a catalogue on VizieR, so I don't think it will be a problem to have both DR9 and DR10 at the site.

Great news regarding the incorporation of DR10 into Seqplot!

Some observers like VizieR for its ability to read a table of positions, and its filtering options, so uploading DR10 to VizieR will be useful to many of us.

OK for Both DR9 & DR10

Tom,

OK, understand where you are coming from... no problem for me as long as VizieR were to keep both available.
