From our threads I assume that the new Baader filters are colored glass with coatings. Reason for this post is talk on the Cloudy Nights science forum about these filters. At least one respected member thinks that the Baader filters are interference filters of the same sort as Astrodons. Clarity about the exact nature of the Baader filters would help potential photometrists who follow do not our Forum to make an intelligent choice.

Thanks, Ed

I have an older Baader V…

I have an older Baader V filter of unknown vintage, an Astrodon V filter, and a brand new Baader V filter. The new Baader V filter and the astrodon look a pinkish red color from off angles, and I can only see green when looking straight on them. The older Baader V filter looks green from every angle I look at it. That seems to be in line with the newer Baader filters being of similar construction to the Astrodons.
