Hello everyone,
We just issed AAVSO Special Notice #398 for the bright transient in Sgr, PNV J18142514-2554343. Spectroscopic confirmation of this object is strongly encouraged -- grating spectrographs should be sufficient to determine whether it's a nova or not. It's in VSX, and the sequence team is talking about a sequence.
