BSM_NM had a mount failure a month or so ago. Michele Mittelman was generous enough to donate a used Paramount ME to the AAVSO, and Peter Scheuter and Tom Smith swapped mounts at Bill Stein's observatory where BSM_NM resides. It appears that a power surge took out the old Paramount and a USB hub.
This mount worked fine at the David Mittelman Observatory, but seems to have a problem after the move. It works well in three quadrants of the sky, but turns tracking off in the 4th quadrant. This is a very strange error, and we haven't isolated the problem yet. So for now, images taken in the NE (I believe) may trail.
I'm going out to NM in mid-May to work on APASS, and will work on BSM_NM at the same time.
Hi Team,
Stars still trailing over at BSM_NM2.
T_CrB observations cannot plat solve and are all star trails.
Thanks,
Andrew
