Radial velocity measurements?

Previous methods discussed here have focused on detecting transits, but I wonder if anyone at the amateur level is trying to verify/detect exoplanets via RVs?  I have only done a cursory search but found this interesting paper from 2006: https://arxiv.org/ftp/astro-ph/papers/0609/0609468.pdf

If anyone has any thoughts on this or has done it and has experience to share, I would be interested in hearing them.

Thanks,

James

RV measurements by amateurs

Hi James,

As you found with the example you cite, there have been a limited number of attempts by amateurs to conduct RV studies. Unfortunately, the price of a high-resolution spectrograph to conduct useful RV studies is out of the $ range of most amateurs.
