Friends,

This year, we worked with Astronomers Without Borders to create a variable stars program for stargazers all over the world. This is primarily for those who have never observed variable stars and would like to try such observations. The program can be found under:

http://astronomerswithoutborders.org/gam2016-news/latest-news/3267-vari…

Do you have friends or neighbors who would like to know a little more about observing variable stars but think it is difficult and/or they don't know where to start from? Do you have a cousin/nephew you would like to introduce to variable star observing? Are you interested in trying somethign fun? If any of the above applies, please take a look at the projects in this program and/or send the link to the appropriate persons. It is an easy and fun way to introduce anyone to variable star observing and share the experience of observing variations in fun stars.

Many thanks to Sebastian Otero who helped put together this fun project. Happy observing!

Best wishes - clear skies,

Stella.

A great place to start!

Many thanks to Sebastian and everyone else involved in this great entry point to variable star observing! We definitely need to get more people taking the plunge into observing.
