Transformations coefficients for SDSS photometry

As I am about to start SDSS photometry I wonder whether I can transform the instrumental magnitudes into standard SDSS magnitudes. It that makes sense where can I get SDSS magnitudes of standard stars such as those from M67 or from some Landolt star fields? Or is it prefearable to convert instrumental SDSS magnitudes into Johnson-Cousins magnitudes? I will image with g' r' and i' filters.

Yes indeed

Gianluca: yes, of course you can transform instrumental magnitudes into Sloan magnitudes. I do it every day. You simply need a catalog that offers reliable magnitudes in several Sloan passbands. I use and recommend the ATLAS refcat2 catalog.
