Dear all,

Why I can't search "nova Sgr 2015 no.2" from pick a star on top page of AAVSO site?

I tried to search with several entries  like, N Sgr 2015 no.2, nova Sgr 2015 No.2.

But error message was always appeared.

PNV J18365700-2855420 is OK.

I can search another nova nova Sgr 2015 from "pick a star".

ofcourse I can Seach it from VSX search form.

Missing blank

Hi Seiichiro,

You have to put a space between "No." and "2", so use "nova Sgr 2015 No. 2".  The Pick a Star box is quite strict on the use of spaces, while the search form of VSX itself will allow many more variations.

Thank you, Patrick

But space between "No." and "2" is correct in the rule of namming of novae?

Or, we don't have no strict rule of naming of novae?

I have not to enter PNV J18365700-2855420, next time. That's great.

Copy and paste of "PNV J18365700-2855420" is not easy on my iiPad.

>As far as I know, the only

>As far as I know, the only "official" nova names are GCVS names.  But lately these have not been assigned (or not rapidly).

Yes. You are right.
