If you want to be up-to-date with the new additions to VSX, you should take advantage of the special searches available in the VSX search page.

There are several options to search for the most recent changes:

* Changes since last login = will return the list of stars added or revised since the last time you logged in to VSX.
* Changes in last week
* Changes in last month

And other special searches are:

* My contributions = a list of all the stars you submitted or revised.
* My personal aliases = if you ever used this option to name a star (maybe to avoid typing those long and weird names), you'll find it here.
* Stars I have observed = will give you a list of the stars for which you submitted observations to the AID, with the number of such observations.
* Nova outbursts in last 10 years = a list of the nova that exploded over the last ten years ordered by year from the most recent to the oldest (speaking of which, I think we are just in time for another nova, it's been two months since the last one discovered).

So if you want to know what's up, you can make use of these options so you don't miss anything!

Cheers,
Sebastian

re: Search for the latest in VSX

Thanks for the pointer on the special searches. I had never paid them much attention, but I now realize that it's a handy way to keep up with any updates to stars on my program list - I'll make a mental note to check it regularly. The "Stars I have observed" search is also a nice one that gives a list of stars sorted by the number of observations made.

And while I'm at it, thanks for all the hard work you and the other maintainers of VSX have been doing. It's a very valuable tool. I also appreciate the speedy response to requests for AUID assignments, and the extra information (close companions, incorrect cross-ids, etc.) that are often included in the response.

Search for latest in VSP

Sebastian, is there something similar to find recent charts?

Kind regards

Stephen

Observations and charts

Hi Stephen,

As your comment title suggests, this is more a VSP thing.
The number of observations is listed in the VSX entry of the star so it can be displayed in that special VSX search. It is not the same with the charts.

Cheers,
Sebastian
