Long-term monitoring of BASW 1

Dear Sir or Madame, I would like to embark on a long-term monitoring project of BASW 1 (Classic Cepheid Variable in M31 with a period of around 30 days). I plan to use a 60cm telescope with at a good location. The peak-to-through difference in apparent magnitude is 1.4 mag. Is it at all feasible to detect the period using long-time exposures / stacking of images?

RR GEM Maxima timings

I was looking for Blazhko effect in RR GEM. I have downloaded all obsevations from our international database. I took maxima from each full light curve. unfortunately the Maxima JD is not matching with JD given by Gerard Samolyk in JAAVSO. Differance is varing from 1 minute to 10 minutes. Looks like I am doing some thing wrong. Kindly guide me to get exact maxima timings. 

(For example 2457087.3830 mag 10.635 is given in paper, but I am getting  2457087.377 mag 10.614)

Hi folks,

I've signed up for the Newsflash for T CrB observations, and I've noticed that different observers are doing different cadences. One observer reports a single measurement which looks like it's an average of several measurements with a proper error value; another submits 30 individual measurements within a one-hour window with reported errors of 0.000; a third does several observations over the night.

Target Tool ( https://targettool.aavso.org/ ) was having some updating problems. Fortunately someone spotted this and advised HQ and now it is fixed: it accurately reports how long ago the last observation was made.

With this and any other AAVSO tool please report any behavior that looks like it needs repair. Thx.

Tool Tip:   It bothered me that when you try to filter for just V observations you would also get Visual observations. I discovered you can direct the filter to be exact by adding a '=' to the filter. So filter by "V="

T CrB and 2 Pallas

     John Greaves in England has pointed out that around June 24 the asteroid 2 Pallas, roughly mag 9, will pass within about 15' of T CrB.  It will approach from the northeast and pass roughly south and slightly east of the star as it moves to the southwest.  Since there'll be an extra 'star' in the field it could be mistaken for the variable itself.  On the other hand, if you are involved in any sort of public outreach, there's the opportunity to show a moving solar-system target in the same field as the variable near the nights in question.  The orbit of Pallas has rather high inclinatio
