I am a little confused concerning how to report observations in AAVSO extended format

https://www.aavso.org/aavso-extended-file-format

In this document there are fine examples. In example 2 the CHART for SS CYG is given as

070613

But when I look at the chart for SS CYG, then I find a chart with the designation

X16382L  (sequence)  X16382M (Chart)

Which one to report?

Hi all.

I'm observing this star since June for the second year and now it plays show in the tricolor blue band.

Blue measurements are often higher (0.15 mag) than green ones (nearly constant) and sometimes there is a jump below the corresponding green measurement.

It's very excinting to follow this variable star.

I'm doing DSLR out of focus transformed measurements with a SONY Alpha 2000 and 50mm or 200mm lenses on a Skywatcher StarAdventurer.

Artist Searching for Variable Star Magnitudes for Project

AstroArtist Mon, 08/01/2016 - 21:35

Hello,

I would like to make a visual work using the magnitudes of a variable star. I first had the idea when reading the recent AR Sco article and am attracted to its rapid and strong fluctuation (every two minutes). Unfortunately, the longest set of observations is in the low hundreds and I was hoping for something over a longer period (several days or weeks). Does anyone know of a similar variable star that might also have a longer data set? Thank you!

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Variable Stars for Android is now available in the Play Store -- thanks to all my beta testers for helping me work out some of the issues in the beta version!

Variable Stars is a simple resource to provide a clean interface to access basic information about variable stars that can aid in planning observing sessions or just for general knowledge.

Friends,

A new study presents VLT+ AAVSO observations on AR Sco. A very important work, it will appear at the journal Nature tomorrow (July 28). For now, enjoy a very eloquent press release from the European Southern Observatory's press office:

Many thanks to all who took data for this project!

Best wishes - clear skies,

Stella.
