AAS Subject Key Words

AAS Subject Key Words

as of 4/21/2017  (list itself dates from 2013, but is revised only every 5 years or so)

USE ONLY THESE WHEN ADDING ALERT NOTICE OR SPECIAL NOTICE TO ADS

Authors should select subject key words for their manuscripts using the list given below. No more than six key words should be given (and if key words are used for individual stars, galaxies, etc., each object normally counts as one key word). The overall categories (which are capitalized) should not be included. Also, do not include any part of a key word that is in parentheses (marked in italic below), thus,

(stars:) binaries (including multiple): close

should be given as

binaries: close

The key words should be listed in alphabetical order after the abstract and separated by a comma as in the following example:

Key Words: astronomical databases: miscellaneous, planet–star interactions, planets and satellites: individual (Proxima Cen b), stars: individual (Proxima Cen), stars: variables: general

Headings such as stars: individual (..., ...) should include the individual name(s) in the parentheses, as indicated above. If more than one star, separate them by a comma within the parentheses.

Note that in RevMexAA macros, the \addkeyword{text} command for subject key words must be placed after the \abstract{text} command and not before it.

The easiest way to submit an abstract to ADS is to use the form at

http://adsset.cfa.harvard.edu/adsfeedback/submit_abstract.html.
