There have been two Neil-Gehrels-SWIFT triggers coming from the direction of SCO X-1 in the past 2 days.

Does anyone know what's up there? Should we observe Sco X-1 in the optical more often? This would be most interesting for observers in Australia I guess.

Sco-X1 is a low mass x-ray binary , the consensus seems to be that it is a neutron star that is accreting from a companion star, causing very bright emission in X-rays from the accretion process. It's actually the astronomical brightest X-ray source outside the solor system as seen from Earth. So the triggers could well be some error in the spacecraft's handling of such a bright (known) source, or maybe Sco X-1 is really doing something funny.

Looks like it is not real:

Although Swift-BAT triggered on Sco X-1, the source has not brightened unusually. This trigger is not an indication of an interesting astrophysical event and can be ignored.
