Hello AAVSO members and observers,

When stacking images to improve SNR, I also wanted to apply the concept of moving average in the stacking process by including some of the frames from the previous stack and some of the frames for the next stack - just like the overlapping values when doing moving average in math. This has the effect of total integration/stack time greater than data points interval. My goal was to smoothen the data points through stacking. I did this procedure when analyzing BX Leo, and I was able to observe a section of its variability for one hour with a range of 0.08 mag.

Just like to reach out if anyone also does this sort of moving stack to smoothen the data points through stacking, and if there are any improvements in the workflow that you do?

Thanks,

Raymund
