R Aqr observation (V,B,visual) needed now - URGENT

Dr. Margarita Karovska urgently needs a V and/or B observation of R Aqr RIGHT NOW - TONIGHT (FRI/SAT Apr 7/8) and SAT/SUN and SUN/MON. A visual observation would be very valuable, too. R Aqr (23 43 49.46 -15 17 04.2  2000.0) is barely past solar conjunction so may not be observable yet from your location.

AAVSO observations from just before solar conjunction show R Aqr may be brightening from its minimum much earlier than expected. Dr. Karovska is meeting with the HST and Chandra teams on Monday/Tuesday in hopes of scheduling R Aqr for May, but if it is too far above minimum now it will not be suitable for observation then, because the behavior Dr. Karvovska is interested in will be masked.

Anything you can do would be appreciated enormously!

Many thanks, and Good observing,

Elizabeth Waagen, AAVSO HQ
