Background/Interesting Fact
I've been an active amateur astronomer since 1962. I inherited the hobby from my father, who was an ATM back in the 50's. Over the years I made some two dozen telescopes from 4.25" to 16.5", all by hand. My core gear is now more modern, but I enjoyed my time as an ATM. I've been interested in variable stars for a long time, but poor eyesight was a problem. With the advent of CCD photometry I can finally participate in this fascinating activity.
