Background/Interesting Fact
I first started visually observing variable stars in 1982 and concentrated mainly on CV's and RCB's. Recently my emphasis is now mainly on poorly observed LPV's. I live under the light polluted skies of Perth, Western Australia however with my 16", 10", 8" and 4" reflectors I find that there are plenty of stars to observe even if the conditions are not ideal. I also conduct BVRI CCD photometry mainly of RCB's and novae using the R-COP telescope at the Perth Observatory. I am also conducting a photographic nova patrol and have been lucky enough to discover 3 so far since April 2021.
